This policy defines what you can and can't do with RateCards. It applies to all users and is part of your agreement with us.

1. Purpose

RateCards is a professional tool. Use it for legitimate business purposes — creating and sharing rate cards with clients and prospects.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the RateCards platform and is incorporated into the Terms of Service. By using RateCards, you agree to comply with this AUP.

RateCards is designed for legitimate commercial use by freelancers, agencies, and businesses to create and share professional pricing documents. Any use that interferes with this purpose, harms other users, or violates applicable law is prohibited.

2. Prohibited Content

Don't create or share rate cards that are illegal, deceptive, or designed to defraud clients.

You may not create, store, or share rate cards or other content through the Service that:

  • Is false, misleading, or deceptive — including fabricated rates, fake credentials, or misrepresented services intended to defraud prospective clients
  • Impersonates any individual, company, brand, or other entity without authorization
  • Infringes any third party's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights
  • Violates any applicable law or regulation, including laws governing pricing transparency, consumer protection, or anti-discrimination
  • Contains malicious code, viruses, malware, or any content designed to interfere with the Service or any recipient's systems
  • Facilitates unlawful discrimination based on protected characteristics including race, gender, age, disability, religion, or national origin
  • Is obscene, defamatory, or harassing toward any individual or group

3. Prohibited Conduct

Don't abuse the platform — no scraping, reverse engineering, account sharing, or trying to break things.

You may not use the Service to:

  • Scrape or harvest data: use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or collect data from the Service beyond what is expressly permitted
  • Reverse engineer: attempt to access source code, underlying infrastructure, or non-public APIs of the Service
  • Circumvent security: bypass, disable, or interfere with any security features, authentication, or access controls
  • Resell or sublicense: resell, sublicense, or offer the Service as a white-labeled product to third parties without RateCards' express written consent
  • Account sharing: share account credentials with unauthorized third parties or enable multiple individuals to use a single-user account simultaneously
  • Spam: use Shareable Links or any Service feature to send unsolicited commercial communications
  • Overburden infrastructure: place an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our systems, including through automated testing, load testing, or DDoS-style requests without prior approval
  • Competitive intelligence: use the Service to systematically gather data about RateCards' product for the purpose of building a competing service

5. Enforcement

Violations can result in warnings, suspension, or permanent termination — depending on severity.

RateCards reserves the right to investigate potential violations of this AUP and take any action we deem appropriate, including:

  • Warning: a written notice for minor or first-time violations
  • Content removal: removal of content that violates this AUP
  • Temporary suspension: suspension of your account pending investigation or remediation
  • Permanent termination: termination of your account for repeated or severe violations
  • Legal referral: referral to appropriate law enforcement or regulatory authorities for violations that involve illegal conduct
Violations involving fraud, impersonation, or content designed to harm recipients may result in immediate account termination without prior notice.

RateCards' failure to enforce this AUP in any particular instance does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.

6. Reporting Violations

Seen something that violates this policy? Let us know — we take reports seriously.

If you believe a RateCards user or a Shareable Link is in violation of this AUP, please report it to us at abuse@ratecards.app. Include:

  • The URL of the rate card or account in question
  • A description of the violation
  • Any supporting evidence (screenshots, communications)

For copyright infringement claims specifically, contact copyright@ratecards.app.

We will review all reports and take appropriate action, though we may not be able to share the outcome with the reporting party.
