1. Your Right to Opt Out

California residents can tell us not to sell their personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have the right to direct a business not to sell their personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. "Sharing" includes disclosing personal information to third parties for targeted advertising across websites, even when no money changes hands.

This page explains our current practices and gives you every method available to exercise this right.

2. Do We Sell or Share Your Data?

We do not sell your personal information. We only "share" data for ad measurement if you explicitly opt in via the cookie banner — and you can withdraw that at any time.

RateCards does not sell personal information to third parties for monetary consideration, and has not done so in the preceding 12 months.

We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising by default. The only technology on our site that could constitute "sharing" under the CCPA is the Meta Pixel, which is used for advertising conversion measurement and is disabled unless you explicitly opt in through our cookie consent banner. Analytics providers (Google Analytics, Mixpanel) act as our service providers under written contracts that restrict their use of your data; disclosures to service providers are not a "sale" or "share" under the CCPA.

3. How to Opt Out

Four ways: the one-click button below, cookie preferences, a browser Global Privacy Control signal, or a privacy request. No account or login required.

You may opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information using any of the following methods. We will act on opt-out requests within 15 business days. You do not need to create an account or verify your identity to opt out.

  • One-click opt-out: Use the Opt out of sale/sharing button above.
  • Cookie Preference Center: Decline or withdraw consent for Marketing cookies in our cookie consent banner, or reopen it any time via Cookie Preferences (also linked in the footer of every page). This disables the Meta Pixel for your browser. See the Cookie Policy for details.
  • Global Privacy Control: Enable the GPC signal in your browser or browser extension. We treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing for that browser. See Section 4.
  • Privacy request: Submit the California Privacy Rights Request form or email privacy@ratecards.app with the subject line "Opt Out of Sale/Share".

Because opt-out preferences for cookies are stored per browser and device, you will need to repeat your cookie choice if you clear cookies or use a different browser or device.

4. Global Privacy Control

We honor the GPC browser signal as a legally valid opt-out.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser-level setting that automatically communicates your opt-out preference to every site you visit. California law requires us to treat it as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing for your browser. When we detect a GPC signal, Marketing cookies (including the Meta Pixel) remain off regardless of prior banner choices.

5. Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. Agents may submit requests through the same methods listed in Section 3. We may ask the agent for reasonable proof that you authorized them to act for you, such as a signed permission, unless the agent holds a valid power of attorney.

6. Consumers Under 16

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. RateCards accounts require users to be at least 18 years old under our Terms of Service.

7. Sensitive Personal Information

California residents also have a right to limit the use and disclosure of certain sensitive personal information. RateCards uses sensitive personal information (such as account log-in credentials) only for the purposes necessary to provide our services, as permitted by CCPA regulations. 8. Non-Discrimination

We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. Opting out will not change the price of our services, the quality of your experience, or your access to any feature. If we ever offer a program that involves a financial incentive tied to personal information, we will publish a separate Financial Incentive Notice and enroll you only with your prior opt-in consent.
