1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, function more efficiently, and to provide analytics and usage information to site owners.
RateCards uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixel tags, local storage, and session storage) to operate the Service and understand how it is used.
2. Types We Use
We load our analytics and marketing tools through Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager itself does not set cookies; it only runs a tool after you have allowed that tool’s category, and it receives your choice through Google Consent Mode.

These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality such as authentication, session management, and security.

Analytics Cookies Opt-In Required
These cookies help us understand how users interact with the Service, which features are most used, and where we can improve. They are only activated after you turn on Analytics in our cookie banner or Cookie Preferences, and are never set by default. Data is pseudonymized before analysis.

Marketing Cookies Opt-In Required
These cookies are only activated after you explicitly opt in via our cookie banner or Cookie Preferences, and are never set by default. They let us measure the effectiveness of our ads and let Meta show you relevant ads. Under California law, this counts as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. How to Opt Out
Cookie Preference Center
The fastest way: open Cookie Preferences (also linked in the footer of every page) to allow or decline Analytics and Marketing cookies for this browser. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal, which keeps Marketing cookies off automatically.
When you turn a category off, we delete the cookies that category had set and reload the page so those tools stop running. Your choice lasts 12 months, after which we ask again (we also ask again if we add a new cookie category or provider). To show that we honored your choice, we keep a record of it — a random ID generated by your browser, which categories you allowed, whether a GPC signal was present, and the date — for 25 months. This record does not include your name, email, or IP address.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being set. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging into RateCards.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)
RateCards honors the GPC browser signal as a valid opt-out of advertising data sharing. If your browser transmits a GPC signal when you visit ratecards.app, we will treat this as a request to opt out and will not activate consent-gated advertising tools (including Meta Pixel) for your session, regardless of any prior consent.
Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. RateCards currently does not alter its data collection practices in response to Do Not Track signals, as there is no industry-standard interpretation of this signal. You can control tracking preferences more precisely through our cookie consent banner.
5. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or remove third-party tools. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes that expand our use of marketing cookies, we will notify you in the Service.
